Troubleshooting

Most email systems will automatically mark this message as spam, so please check your Spam folder to find your account information.
- Be sure to enter just the username, not the whole email when prompted to sign in at . (For example, “jsmith15,” not “jsmith15@georgefox.edu”)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
You will be required to utilize Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when accessing login.georgefox.edu or apps that use the single sign on page such as Gmail, Canvas, Zoom, My麻豆社Fox, etc. .
Set up at Least Two Methods
We recommend that you set up more than one method of authentication. You can find instructions here for .
There are four methods available:
- Okta Verify: A mobile device app that will send a push notification asking for verification that it was you that attempted to sign in. This method is required when using the VPN.
- Google Authenticator: An app for your mobile device that you will open to obtain a time sensitive code you will need to type in.
- SMS Authentication: You will receive a one-time code via text message that will need to be entered upon login.
- Voice Call Authentication: This method will call and hear a code spoken. Calls can be easily forwarded from your office phone to any other phone number.
Some devices may also offer a biometric method (for example fingerprint or face identification). These methods can have an inconsistent success rate, we do not recommend that you enable biometrics for Multi-Factor Authentication.
Getting a New Phone?
Both Okta Verify and Google Authenticator apps will transfer to your new phone, but the account settings will not transfer over. This disruption will keep you from accessing your email, Canvas or other items accessed at login.georgefox.edu.
Be sure to have a backup method such as SMS or Voice Call set up before getting a new phone. If not, you might not be able to login until the Service Desk is open. To avoid this situation, follow the instructions in .
Resetting Multi-Factor Authentication
If you are having difficulties with your authentication method or have not set up a backup method you will need to contact the Service Desk for assistance at 503-554-2569 during normal office hours.
