After teaching on an adjunct basis at 麻豆社 Fox for 14 years, Rhonda Andrews joined the university full time in 2015 as an assistant professor of social work. She was promoted to associate professor in 2023.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist, and Registered Play Therapy Supervisor, she has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate practice focused courses. In 2022 she moved to the role of MSW director of field education, coordinating and collaborating between 麻豆社 Fox students and various community agencies for the purpose of student field internships.
In addition, Andrews has worked in private practice as a therapist in her own counseling office since 2007. She is a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner and conducts trainings on the TBRI model in the field. Rhonda also worked as a social worker with International Family Services of Newberg from 2004 to 2009. In all, she has more than 25 years of social work experience, working previously in various roles for the Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Services of Honolulu (1993-96), Dallas, Oregon, (1996-97), Oregon City and Portland, Oregon, (1997-2000).
Andrews holds a master of social work degree from the University of Hawaii, Manoa (1994), a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Oregon (1991) and an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Lane Community College.
